Welcome to  
Troll Busters Full Production Course

COURSE TIME: 12hrs 
(Excluding 10hrs of FILM FOUNDATION Lessons) 

 BEFORE STARTING THIS COURSE WE RECOMMEND COMPLETING THE FILM FOUNDATION
LESSONS 1-10


FULL PRODUCTION COURSE:
Using the film Troll Busters as a template the Full Production Course will apply all that you have learnt in the 10 Film Foundation Lessons to create a short action hero film. This is a comprehensive 5 Stage guide with many supporting documents and extra video lessons that will take you from Pre-Production to the Red Carpet Event.

(If your students already have filmmaking experience you may proceed with this course. However many of the 10 Film Foundation Lessons contain explanations of the filmmaking process based on Hollywood methods and the short film Troll Busters.)


5 STAGES TO FILM PRODUCTION

STAGE 1: PREPARATION
Script & Storyboard, Cast & Crew. Editing, Camera & Sound Prep, Hardware & Software Planning.


STAGE 2: PRE-PRODUCTION
Storyboard Breakdown, Film Planning & Production Schedule, Call sheets, Sets & Props creation, Location scouting.  Costume & Makeup plan, Rehearsal & Production Plan. 


STAGE 3: PRODUCTION
Director's Duties, Assistants Tasks, Cast & Crew Tasks, Cameraperson tasks. Full Production Plan Execution.

STAGE 4: POST-PRODUCTION
Rough to Final Film Editing, Sound & Music, Pickups & Re-Shooting, Adding Visual Effects. Credit Scenes & Bloopers, Film Title Design.


STAGE 5: PROMOTION
Community Outreach, Fundraising, Poster design, Advertising design, Red Carpet Organising, Social Media Platform Advertising.

4.    I can represent and characterise people in my school community, using stories, structure, settings, and the conventions of a ‘children’s action comedy’ genre in a short film. (VCAMAE029

5.    I can apply the conventions of an ‘children’s action comedy’ genre to an ordinary everyday event to create humour in film. (VCAMAE029

Director

Richard Pritchard

With over 10 years experience Richard works as a VFX Artist/Director. He has worked on a wide range of highend commercials and feature films including Happy Feet 1 & 2, The Great Gatsby, Prometheus and Mad Max: Fury Road.Richard has worked in many of Australia’s top film and animation studios including Sydney’s Animal Logic. He also worked for and with Australia's most awarded film director George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) for six years.
